Review of DOWN TO YOU by Michelle Leighton

Title: DOWN TO YOU
Publication Date: September 21st 2013

"The scorching tale of one girl, two brothers and a love triangle…that’s not. Olivia Townsend is nothing special. She’s just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business. She’s determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it’s clear what she must do. Plain and simple. Black and white. But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and Nash Davenport. They’re brothers. Twins.

Cash is everything she’s always wanted in a guy. He’s a dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost. He turns her insides to mush and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he’s no good for her. Nash is everything she’s ever needed in a guy. He’s successful, responsible and intensely passionate. But he’s taken. Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv’s rich, beautiful cousin. That doesn’t stop Olivia from melting every time he looks at her, though. With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together.

Black and white turns to shades of gray when Olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as far and as fast as she can. But it’s too late to run. Olivia’s already involved. And in love. With both of them. Both brothers make her heart tremble. Both brothers set her body on fire. She wants them both. And they want her. How will she ever choose between them?"

*I Hereby Award This Book 5 Wings!*

I absolutely MUST write this review before I pick up Up To Me and then the lines get blurred and I end up putting some from one book into the other's review by mistake.

So, what can I say about this book? There will be so many people who have read this and I will only be telling you what you already know, but this review is for those of you who haven't yet picked it up, maybe you didn't even know of it's existence (hardly likely but could be possible)...

Down To You is one of the most entertaining reads I have picked up in a while now. I've taken a short break from blogging and am only picking up books that I want to read, not that I need to read by a certain date. But this book made me log into my blog to leave a paper trail (okay electronic) of my feelings...

1) Was this book sexy? HELLS YEAH
2) Did this book make my cheeks flame reading it? Umm.. YEAH.. not because I am a prude (I'm far from it) but instead because I sank into the head of Olivia and I went through all of her emotions with her. Hence, she got red in the face and I did too.
3) Was the MC insteresting? Definitely!
4) Was the love interest swoonworthy? Another HELLS YEAH!

Basically this book had it all. The "Total Package". It was fun, feisty, flirty, sexy, flirtatious and hilarious. Each page had me feeling a whole melting pot of emotions. It got even better when Cash Davenport came along. In fact, here's a status update I wrote about him on Goodreads...
"Ohmysweetgods where is the fire extinguisher to douse the flames? All Hell couldn't be as hot as Cash Davenport. Sweetbabyjesus it should be a crime to be as sexy as that! I mean OHMYGOD!!!"

As a rule, I don't read books with love triangles. But this is a book by author-extraordiannaire Michelle Leighton we're talking about so I was all-aboard.

Olivia Townsend is just a normal girl. Her Dad raised her on a farm after her Mom decided to leave. She's a girl who works hard at her bar job and studies at College too. She is so determined not to be the second woman in her Dad's life to up and leave him. She loves her Dad dearly and would do anything for him.

Her room-mate up and left one day, leaving Olivia to renew the lease on her own and make up the shortfall in the rent or move in with her rich snooty cousin Marissa. Unfortunately, the latter is the lesser of 2 evils.

At a friends Hen night, Olivia meets Cash Davenport, owner of the bar Dual. He's hot as all Hell and he seems to have eyes for her too.

When she meets Marissa's boyfriend, she can hardly believe her eyes. It's Cash... Or is it? There are 2 Davenport boys, Cash and Nash. They're identical twins, who would have known?!

While Nash works as an intern at a law firm, is impeccably dressed and has the "sophisticated" edge that Marissa looks for in a guy, Cash is the bad-boy. He owns Dual, rides a motorcycle and wears form-fitting jeans and tee's to show off his rockin' bod! This is the kind of guy that Olivia normally falls for so she is determined that won't be the case this time.

Cash is everything she wants.

Nash is everything she needs.

But she can't steal her cousin's boyfriend. She isn't that girl.

Olivia needs a job closer to her couin's place. It's hard working at Tad's bar and having such a long commute. Nash says he'll put in a good word with Cash and see if he'll hire her at Dual.
Cash not only offers her a job, but also a raise without even knowing her current wage. But this all hinges on an "audition" - she must come and work a shift and pass her audition to be hired.

Needless to say, Olivia passes the audition, much to the chagrin of the gorgeous blonde bartender with dreadlocks, Taryn. She refuses to train her and likes to make life as hard as possible for Olivia. Well that's fine because Olivia was never one to back down from a challenge. She's a shy girl who seems perfectly harmless, but once someone challenges her, her feisty side surfaces and we get to see the strong-willed, hard-working woman she really is.

Whilst Nash is everything she needs in a guy, hard-working, responsible, successful and passionate, he's very much taken. But this doesn't stop the two of them from getting close to each other.

And whilst Cash is the polar opposite in personality, he is also a hard worker, successful at what he does and intensely passionate.

Both boys want her. She wants both boys. If only Cash had a little more Nash in him, a little less of the bad-boy.... But it doesn't seem to matter much in the end because Olivia is hopelessly attracted to him.  She attracted to them both for different reasons...

But the brothers are hiding something and it is a life-changing secret that would be dangerous for everyone if it got found out.

How is Liv meant to choose between the two boys and what will happen if she finds out their secret? Will she run? Or is she already too far gone, in love with them to care?

This book is one of the most fast-paced, well written stories I have read. From the first word you are hooked and it's very much like it's own brand of highly-addictive drug. One hit and you want more, so much MORE.

Liv goes through a whirlwind of emotions and I was right there with her for the ride. I fell in love with both boys. But then, ultimately, my heqart always goes to the bad-boy. Plus in this case, Cash is a bad-boy with a heart. He doesn't realise how much he feels for Liv until he is too far gone to ignore it any more.

I am glad I have the next book Up To Me here to read straight away, but unfortunately, I will have to wait for the installment after that and that is something I won't like having to do. Especially if it is left the way Down To You is left. It's not a cliffhanger as such, it's just.... ACK! I can't tell you and ruin the ending!! I'm not that girl!

I am in awe of Michelle Leighton as an author. If  could strive to achieve an ounce of her brilliance, it would be amazing. She is truly a magic-weaver because she has you under her spell with the hypnotic way she writes and forms the scene right in front of your very eyes like you are living it.

Thank you Michelle for creating the sexy Cash and Nash and for allowing them out into the world.

Thank you anyone who came to read my review. I hope to see you here again soon. Hopefully I'll have read Up To Me by then.
